Bought myself an Olympus E-620 and it's all what I hoped it to be and a crapload more. The camera
itself isn't over-the-top amazing, hardware-wise, but the software/firmware on it is bloody spectacular. Don't think there's a single thing I can't adjust or fiddle with. Now I just gotta
get some experience on it and see where it takes me.
Also, I got my 2x teleconverter today, which proved to be a hoax. $30 right out the window, thing doesnt magnify s**t and makes my pictures blurry as hell with barreling.
UPS "tried" to deliver my 500m f8 mirror-tele today, but I was at home at the tracked time of supposed delivery and I never heard the doorbell even tho it's right outside my office-door. Should give them
the favour of the doubt tho, since they've managed to ship my lens from New York via Philly, Köln Germany, to Norway and to my door in a bit more than three days. Norwegian postal-routes take about the double of that just to ship from south to north on domestic shipments.
I've also been so lucky to have borrowed two lenses from a colleague, a 70-300mm Oly/Zuiko and a 35mm macro Oly/Zuiko. Been testing them both a bit today, but I can't say I'm convinced. The 70-300 is a bit slower than my 55-200 Sigma, and about 2 times as big, both in weight and volume. The 35mm macro was interesting, but it has a limited area of use, especially for me. Don't see the point in putting about $350 worth in a lens when I already have my macro-filters for the kitlens.
On another note, I've uploaded ALOT of HDR images made with Photoshop and Photomatix lately. Pretty fun thing to do to waste time, and the results are pretty stunning after a bit of fiddling. I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but I'm getting there and I see I've gotten quite a few favs on my images aswell. Thanks to those who like my playing around so much that they fav'ed, kudos to you!
And that's that...
